For more than 45 years, the Merchant Program has set the standard in apprentice training for the electric utility industry. Merchant Job Training & Safety, Inc. (MJTS) provides industry-leading distance-learning programs that equip utility workers with the knowledge and skills required to succeed.
Our programs serve as related technical instruction for use in apprenticeship programs leading to journeyman certification when coupled with structured on-the-job training. We exceed the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship minimum requirement of 144 hours of related instruction per year.
The programs are well-suited for skill advancement of experienced employees with duties ranging from line personnel through management. MJTS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality in all training materials and programs.
